The magnificant Great Barrier Reef from the sky

Perfectly positioned on the only Great Barrier Reef island with its own commercial jet airport, qualia is on the eastern edge of the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef.

World's Largest Coral Reef System

The world’s largest and most diverse coral reef system, the Great Barrier Reef is paradise for wildlife-watching, diving and snorkelling. Made up of almost 3000 reefs and more than 900 islands, the entire reef stretches for over 2600 kilometres off the Queensland coast.

The reef’s 350-plus types of corals are made up of hard and soft coral polyps in rainbow colours. Coral spawning is a natural highlight occurring over several nights in November, when new corals are fertilised in a reproductive cloud.
