Hamilton Island is fringed by coral and is part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. One of Queensland’s Whitsunday group of islands, Hamilton Island is located south of neighbouring Whitsunday Island.

Our Story

The meaning of qualia is "a collection of deeper sensory experiences" and this is what qualia uniquely delivers. Situated on Hamilton Island, qualia is a private oasis in the Whitsundays and the Oatley family’s world-class boutique luxury resort.

Opened in 2007, qualia’s harmonious design is the work of Australian designer Chris Beckingham. In partnership with the Oatley family, the design philosophy was to create a luxurious Australian retreat that stimulates the senses and draws the outside in.
